On the 27th and 29th of March, the OFJ extends a warm welcome to returning American soprano Amber Wagner, winner of the 2007 Metropolitan Opera (New York) auditions and highly respected worldwide for her interpretations of the great heroines of Verdi, Richard Strauss, and Wagner. OFJ Music Director Marco Parisotto has designed an interesting program dedicated to the music of Richard Wagner to showcase the talents of our highly esteemed visiting soloist. Included are orchestral selections from the operas Rienzi, The Flying Dutchman, Die Walküre (Ride of the Valkyries), Die Meistersinger, and Götterdámmerung, and Amber Wagner will also regale us with some of the most celebrated arias from such operas as Tristan und Isolde (Liebestod), Lohengrin (Einsam in trüben Tagen), Die Walküre (Der Männer Sippe), The Flying Dutchman (Traft ihr das Schiff), and Tannhäuser (Dich, teure Halle).
