Acclaimed Russian pianist Alexei Volodin returns to the OFJ to interpret Sergei Prokofiev`s Piano Concertos Nos. 1 and 3, both works noteworthy for their musical richness and colorful melodic variety, and for running the technical and artistic gamut. We then close our concert with Petrouchka, by Igor Stravinsky, a work brimming with energy and inventiveness which represents one of the most brilliant moments in the career of this Russian composer. It has been touted as a sophisticated, intellectual example of theatrical folklore. Continuing our celebration of 100 years of orchestral tradition in Jalisco, the OFJ will repeat this program in one of this country`s most important cultural centers: El Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City.
