One of the OFJ´s most important activities is its contribution to public cultural education. To that end, the orchestra presents frequent concerts dedicated to children and young people. Once again, the State of Jalisco´s most important orchestral ensemble brings a Kids Concert with the OFJ to the public.  On this occasion, the program is entitled What Music Says to Us. Our hosts for this one-of-a-kind sonic experience will be Mar Domínguez and Marco Ayala, who will guide us through various works inspired by musical and dance traditions from different parts of our planet, including selections from the ballets Gayaneh by Aram Khachaturián and Coppélia by Léo Delibes, respectively, and the sonorous exoticism of the Maurice Ravel work Alborada del gracioso and Islamey by Mili Balákirev. For the first time, the OFJ welcomes a privileged new artist: young tapatio (Guadalajara native) pianist David González Ladrón de Guevara who, despite having only four fingers on each hand, presents us with an inspiring example in having won the Grand Prize in the International Competitions for Pianist with Different Capacities.  David will perform the Concierto para piano a ocho dedos which his father, composer José Luis González Moya, wrote for him.

This performance takes place at the Teatro Degollado on Sunday, April 15th at 12:15 PM, under the baton of talented tapatío director Enrique Radillo.
