First 2016 Orchestra Season, Teatro Degollado
The lilting, fresh melodies of Mozart´s Concerto No. 5 for violin and orchestra provide proof positive of the composer’s genius in this attractive work. We will experience Mozart’s joyous creation in the capable hands of a young, highly successful violinist whose interpretation of this work was described in the press as “…wonderfully sensitive and highly musical, combined with technical perfection, a secure instinct for the musical period and a great joy in making music.”
A festive atmosphere continues in Bruckner’s symphonies, combined with a certain solemnity—a combination which creates an incomparable experience for the listener. On this occasion, we encounter the work which catapulted Bruckner to international fame: the composer´s highly successful Seventh Symphony. Acclaimed symphonic conductor Artur Nikisch praised the composer, saying that nothing had come close to the power and beauty of this work since Beethoven.
