The OFJ extends another warm welcome to the amazing Esther Yoo; the young virtuoso violinist will offer her version of the Shostakovich First Violin Concerto, a work that provides maximum exposure to the composer’s creative capacities.
In the second part of this program directed by Marco Parisotto, the OFJ will interpret the symphonic poem Les Preludes by Franz Liszt, composed in 1854 and inspired by the Méditations poétiques of Alphonse de Lamartine. Next, Czech composer Antonin Dvóřak is represented in his most inspired Slavonic Dance No. 2 in E minor, Op. 72, swept away by the rhythms that had enchanted him from an early age in his native land. To conclude these concerts, the OFJ will perform Hungarian Rhapsody No. 1 in F minor, by Franz Liszt. These presentations will take place on Thursday the 9th and Sunday, the 12th, of February.
