Korean-American violinist Esther Yoo is one of the most outstanding instrumentalists of our time, and is a favorite of the OFJ´s audience. On this occasion, Esther offers her interpretation of one of the most important Concertos for violin of all time: the one written by German composer Johannes Brahms in 1878 which was conceived, thanks to his friendship with violin virtuoso Joseph Joachim, during one of the fullest moments of the composer´s life.
In the second part of the program, the OFJ will flaunt its evident orchestral virtuosity in one of the most noteworthy twentieth-century classics: the Concerto for orchestra written by Béla Bartók in 1943. Bartók has said that he called this piece a concerto rather than a symphony because each section of instruments is treated in a soloistic and virtuosic way.
Marco Parisotto will conduct these two concerts on Thursday, July 12th in the Sala Plácido Domingo at the University of Guadalajara´s Conjunto de Artes Escénicas at 8:30 PM, and Sunday, July 15th at the Teatro Degollado at 12:30 PM, as usual.
