The Filarmónica de Jalisco waves goodbye to summer 2013 in grand style:
On the podium, the public will welcome the return of Ukranian-born conductor, composer, and pianist of the acclaimed Dúo Petrof, ANATOLY ZATIN, who over the course of his carreer has collaborated extensively in the international music scene and received multiple awards.
After playing to sold-out houses in her earlier presentations with the Orquesta Filarmónica de Jalisco, virtuoso 11-year old tapatia (Guadalajara native) pianist DANIELA LIEBMAN will once again delight us with her amazing talent, dedication and charisma, making us all forget how very young she still is. On this occasion, she will be performing the Shostakovich Piano Concerto No.2.
In the second part of the program, the audience will be treated to some lighter, popular fare, such as the songs There’s a hero, by D. Cook and John Jarvis, When the night falls, by Sherry Garland, Magnus Halberg, and Bob Dellaposta, The love she found in me, by Dennis Linde and Bob Morrison, among other stellar interpretations by the award-winning singer and actor DAVID GASCHEN, who for many years played the principal role in the Broadway musical "The Phantom of the Opera".
Tickets for this concert run from $150 to $300 pesos and can be ordered through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com.mx or by phone, 3818-3800) and in the Degollado theater box office (taquilla) with a 50% discount for students, teachers, seniors and the handicapped (with special seating set aside specifically for them).
