THE OFJ IN THE FESTIVAL DE MAYO 2014
This year's Festival Cultural de Mayo, in which California, U.S.A. is the guest of honor, promises to be exciting, with the OFJ contributing its talent to two important events which take place on the 18th and 25th of May, 2014.
The first presentation of the Filarmónica de Jalisco in the Festival will be Sunday, May 18th, at 6:30 PM, when the orchestra and Music Director Marco Parisotto will be joined by two stellar guest artists: Baritone Jose Adán Perez--
"José Adán Pérez had an impressive New York debut, his voice smooth, clear and rich. His second-act duet with Nemorino — one of Donizetti’s most irresistibly lyrical creations — was a highlight, a testament to City Opera’s storied and continuing success introducing the city to young, promising singers".

First prize and pro Ópera prizewinner in the Carlo Morelli National Vocal competition, Karen has appeared in recital with the outstanding Mexican tenor Javier Camarena as well as in numerous concerts with the Orquesta Sinfónica del Estado de México under the baton of well-known conductor Enrique Bátiz.
The program includes arias by Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini (the lovely "Quando m'en vo (Musetta's Waltz)" and "O mio babbino caro"), Chapi and Torroba, among others.
The second event, "Hollywood Afternoon", features acclaimed guest conductor Yoav Talmi and the brilliant Chloë Hanslip on violin. Further information about these and other events in the Festival Cultural de Mayo, which begins this evening, Thursday May 8, can be found at:
