OFJ PRESENTS THE TALENT OF MEXICAN WOMEN
This week the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra (OFJ) will offer its third program of the Third Season of 2021 in which female Mexican talent stands out with the world premiere of the work Marcha Trigarante de los 200 años, by Mexican composer Cristina García Islas. Papalotes, by fellow Mexican composer Gabriela Ortiz, will also perform.
Normally the concerts are held on Thursdays, however, for the only occasion the concert was held last night. For next Sunday the function will be as always at 12:30.
Other presentations will include: Divertimento, by Jacques Ibert, a piece inspired as incidental music for the play A Straw Hat, by Eugène Labiche, one of the most famous French theatrical performances of the 20th century.
The program ends with El rey del ragtime, by Scott Joplin, which will sound in the OFJ's performance with Tres Ragtimes, a sound journey through time and this African-American musical genre characterized by improvisation and blues overtones.
This third season can be enjoyed from last October 7 and will run until November 28 at the Degollado Theater. The programming can be consulted at www.ofj.com.mx or on the social networks of the OFJ.
The Degollado Theater is prepared with the health protocols indicated by the Health Table. Attendees are asked to respect the indications, among which it is worth arriving half an hour before the function due to the times that the sanitary filter takes. Once the concert has started, the public is not allowed to enter.
