Radillo will have his first concert as assistant conductor
Although he has collaborated with the Jalisco Philharmonic Orchestra for 14 years, Enrique Radillo will conduct his first concert tonight as assistant conductor of the ensemble and will do so with the premiere of the piece "Paradoxa", by composer Andrea Chamizo.
The musician received that position with the arrival of José Luis Castillo to the titular direction a couple of months ago, but since 2008, Radillo dedicated himself to rehearsing the group, taking care of the music library and keeping the scores in order. for each of the concerts, but now his work will be another one related to the design of the concert seasons, to direct extraordinary galas and to continue with the rehearsals at the head of the ensemble.
"Now I will dedicate myself to the artistic issues of the orchestra, I will work with the principal conductor on programming issues, I will be present at the rehearsals, I will also be aware of the guest conductors who come to conduct the orchestra, that everything is ready for the concerts and if there is any inconvenience, try to solve it.
"My biggest challenge will be to maintain the level of the orchestra, for me it is a huge challenge because they are musicians of great quality and the level is very high," emphasizes Radillo, who will direct at least one program in each concert season.
Radillo, originally from Tlaquepaque and a graduate of the music school of the University of Guadalajara, has conducted ensembles such as the Carlos Chávez Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Xalapa Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonic Orchestra of the State of Querétaro. He has participated in the Cultural Festival of May and the Cervantino and has been the musical director of operas such as "Un Tranvía Llamado Deseo" and the galas of the International Mariachi Meeting.
For tonight's concert, Radillo chose a program made up of Joseph Haydn's "Sorpresa" symphony and the premieres in Jalisco of "Paradoxa" by Andrea Chamizo and "Danzas de Marosszék" by Zoltán Kodály.

Radillo assures that they are already preparing everything so that at least three places will be renewed soon.
The assistant conductor expresses that they are already working on the design of the second season of concerts and that, if there are no changes in the status of the pandemic, the orchestra will play together again on the stage of the Degollado Theater after two years and will also resume its tours by municipalities, as it hadn't done for five years.
"We already have some municipalities scheduled for May and September, the goal is to play again outside of Guadalajara, bring classical music closer to more people, that the orchestra is closer to the people, there are already several dates planned outside the Degollado Theater ", abounds Radillo, who has directed soloists such as Daniela Liebman, Fernando de la Mora, Abdiel Vázquez, Grace Echauri, even Guadalupe Pineda and Alejandro Fernández
