Outstanding Wagnerian soprano Amber Wagner, already a well-known figure for the tapatío public, returns in triumph to the OFJ. Under the baton of Music Director Marco Parisotto, the program, “Wagner Sings Wagner,” includes orchestral selections from the Music Dramas of Richard Wagner: the Overture to The Flying Dutchman, Prelude from Tristan and Isolde, Prelude to Act I of Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg, and the well-known Ride of the Valkyries from Die Walküre. Amber Wagner’s revered voice will be heard in the aria Traft ihr das Schiff, from the opera The Flying Dutchman, the Liebestod from Tristan and Isolde, Dich, teure Halle from the opera Tannhäuser; Du bist der Lenz from Die Walküre, and Brünnhilde’s Immolation from Götterdämmerung.
