In the Teatro Degollado, on Friday, October 28th at 8:30 PM, the OFJ Chamber Music Festival continues as some of its most capable members lend their talents to this week´s event.  Repertoire includes the MOZART Quintet for piano and winds; the SCHUBERT “Trout” Quintet.  (The name of this composition comes from its fourth movement, a set of variations on the composer´s own earlier lied, "Die Forelle" [The Trout])

This second program of the OFJ Chamber Music Festival concludes with the magnificent SCHUMANN Piano Quintet, a work that revolutionized the form by pairing the piano with a conventional string quartet (Previous works in this genre, the “Trout”, for example, incorporated the string bass or used other combinations of instruments).  It is considered one of Schumann´s greatest compositions.
